One story was about devils in the sky that created an evil mirror that crashed to the earth and changed anyone that was pierced by the glass pieces into a mean person. If I want to read my daughter stories that teach her sad, hard lessons, or if I want to read her stories that teach her my own religious beliefs, I prefer to pick the stories, the time and the place. I expected sweet, innocent, child-oriented stories and was surprised when my 5 year old daughter came to me - twice - crying about the story she'd just heard. I have purchased all of the Smart Girls games, and would give every one of them 5 stars - except this one. I have removed this game from her game case and have not listened to the rest of the stories. This really broke my daughter's heart.
All three of them died because they were too poor to buy medicine and food, and no one would help them.
This was scary to her.
I was expecting light-hearted, fun, entertaining stories in this children's game, and maybe some "moral of the story" type plots.
I would give it zero stars if that was an option.
I did not expect a child's game to include such serious topics.
I was surprised by the story itself as well as the inclusion of religious messages in the story.
The second story that upset her so much was about a boy, his dog, and his grandpa.
I am extremely disappointed in this product, and in the fact that there was no warning as to the types of stories contained within.
I am writing this so that other parents have fair warning, and can be better informed before they spend money on this game.
She loves the music pad and the coloring books part especially. She loves it. She'll sit for hours with the game. I'm liked the game so much that I ended up getting her most of the Smart Girl Series, the Party Game, Winter Wonderland and the Birthday party games too. Now I'm looking for all the Smart Boy games for my 6 year old.
Don't let the name fool you. Very little kids will most likely enjoy it.
It is compilation of Interactive Storybook Series 1, Interactive Storybook Series 2, and Interactive Storybook Series 3.It is one of the few DS games that is made just for little kids. It is geared for ages 3+.
This is basically a 3-in-1 game. It shows them how to write alphabet letters and it also has a some counting game.
It has some short stories, simple mini games, a drawing pad, music, a coloring book, and puzzles. Besides being fun for little kids it is also educational.
This is great for both girls or boys. My 3-year old son enjoys playing it.
